This Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 is the most extreme one yet and is known as the 900 Superblack by Brabus. The GLS 63's engine has undergone extensive modifications from Brabus, growing to 4.4 liters.
Because of wider cylinder bores and the use of larger forged pistons and connecting rods, the normal 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged AMG V8 has extended to 4.4 liters. To lengthen the stroke, the tuner installed a precision-balanced billet crankshaft. The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4Matic+ is equipped with two new turbochargers, each of which has a specialized core assembly and larger compressor units. For the SUV, new air intakes as well as a new fuel system with high-pressure pumps have been created. In addition, Brabus installed a new exhaust system with brand-new 76 mm downpipes. A new electronics package ensures that all of the mechanical changes function together.
A powerful 900 horsepower and 1,250 Nm of torque are produced at 2,900 rpm as a result of all these modifications, albeit the torque has been restricted to 1,050 Nm in order to safeguard the drivetrain. Depending on the wheels and tires used, these improvements enable the GLS 63 4Matic+ to reach 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of up to 330 km/h.
A redesigned front splitter to reduce front-axle lift, unique new air intakes in the front bumper, a revamped grille, and carbon fiber trim on the wheel arches are some of the most noticeable cosmetic alterations implemented. In order to reduce the ride height of the SUV's air suspension by 25 mm, Brabus also designed a special control module.
Customers can choose a pair of in-house designed 24-inch wheels with 295/35 front and 335/30 rear tires. The top speed is decreased from 330 km/h to 310 km/h while using these wheels as opposed to the usual 23-inch shoes.
New quilted upholstery, different carbon fiber details, aftermarket scuff plates, and a new matt Shadow Grey finish on the controls, air vents, speaker grilles, and surrounds round out the Brabus enhancements made to the GLS. Last but not least, constructed of aluminum are the pedals and paddle shifters.
There is no word of pricing yet but don't expect it to be cheap as it is one of the most extreme SUV’s you can find today.
