Tokyo Auto Salon Unveils Menacing Toyota GR Yaris and GR Corolla Concepts

Toyota stole the spotlight at the Tokyo Auto Salon, not just with the facelifted GR Yaris but also by showcasing the untamed potential of its GR Yaris and GR Corolla models through two striking concepts. While it remains uncertain if these customized components will hit the market, they undeniably demonstrate the fierce aesthetics achievable with some visual enhancements.

First in the spotlight is the GR Yaris RR x GROW Concept, donned in aggressive attire courtesy of Rookie Racing components. A bold front splitter, silver wheels with distinctive purple lug nuts, and extended side skirts command attention. At the rear, a new lip on the bumper, titanium exhaust tips, a towering rear wing reminiscent of WRC rally cars, and a seemingly lowered ride height complete the transformation.

Sharing the stage is the GR Corolla x GROW Design, showcasing a myriad of exterior upgrades to amplify its allure. A discreet front splitter, side skirt extensions, and mismatched wheels – black on the passenger side and gold/bronze on the driver's side – contribute to its captivating persona. While Toyota has left the rear end to our imagination, glimpses of a large wing, a new spoiler below the rear window, and tweaked rear diffuser suggest a comprehensive makeover.

While the production fate of these concept parts remains uncertain, Toyota has officially confirmed a range of performance enhancements for the updated GR Yaris. Enthusiasts can anticipate offerings like a carbon fiber hood, a carbon fiber rear wing, a low-inertia dual-mass flywheel, and specially designed shock absorbers tailored for track use. As Toyota continues to push boundaries, these concepts serve as visual testaments to the aggressive potential that could soon be unleashed on the roads.
