The FAW-Toyota joint venture's Toyota bZ4X electric SUV had its formal debut in China on October 25. Beyond Zero is the meaning of the prefix "bZ." The bZ4X is the first fully electric SUV made by FAW-Toyota. In FAW-electrification Toyota's plan, which aims to capture the electric SUV and sedan sectors, both the bZ3 and bZ4X are key components.
The bZ4X has dimensions of 4690mm long, 1860mm wide, 1650mm tall, and a 2850mm wheelbase. It is built on Toyota's e-TNGA platform. Both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions are accessible.
The inside is laid out symmetrically. The 12.3-inch central control panel has built-in features like Baidu Map and remote control and supports voice and face recognition. High-end models feature heated seats, wireless charging, keyless parking, and a 360-degree reversing camera. A three-spoke steering wheel and a rotary shifter are further features.
Both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions of the Toyota bZ4X are offered. Two cruising range options of 400 km and 615 km are available with the two-wheel drive, which is powered by an electric motor with 201 HP and 266 Nm. With a combined output of 214 horsepower and 337 pound-feet of torque, the four-wheel drive has two cruising range options, 560 kilometers and 500 kilometers.
The Toyota bZ4X has sun charging technology and a ternary lithium battery pack that can provide 1,750km of cruising range annually. The low-end model's battery capacity is 50.3 kWh, compared to 66.7 kWh for the other variants.
The vehicle has eight SRS airbags and Toyota's Safety Sense 3.0 system for added security.
Five variants are available for purchase, with prices ranging from 27,800 to 39,700 USD. By the end of October, the first batch of bZ4X deliveries is anticipated to be finished. To steadily extend its new energy product range, the joint venture will introduce more all-electric sedans and SUVs in the future.
