Toyota unveiled the Morizo Selection model in Japan in 2021, which includes a lot of aesthetic improvements in addition to more torque.
Toyota said that owners of the regular GR Yaris would be able to purchase the tune that was previously only offered on the Morizo Selection model. All Japanese GR Yaris owners will have access to the "GR Yaris Performance Software 2.0" through the recently announced tuning option, which boosts torque from 370 Nm to 390 Nm. The carmaker claims that the maximum torque is increased between 3,200 and 4,000 rpm.
Trained GR consultants may install the program and guide owners through the customizing choices they have with their new tune.
Owners of the GR Yaris can choose to just meet with an expert who will give them a rundown of the 27 configurations of the steering assist, AWD torque distribution, and throttle response settings so they can choose the one that works best for them.
They can decide to use driving data analysis to customize their vehicle. Toyota collects information by having the owner drive a particular track and then having that information analyzed. The best of the same 27 input configurations can then be used on the car after the information is delivered to a GR garage.
