To adapt the left-hand-drive vehicle to Australian roads, Toyota partnered with Walkinshaw Automotive Group to convert each vehicle into a right-hand-drive configuration. This extensive process involves completely dismantling the truck and rebuilding it with right-hand-drive components.
Due to the complex conversion process, the Australian-spec Tundra is significantly more expensive than its US counterpart. The only available trim level in Australia is the top-of-the-line Limited, equipped with the powerful i-Force Max powertrain. This hybrid system combines a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 437 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque.
The Tundra's impressive towing capacity of 3,500 kg, which can be increased to 4,500 kg with an optional towing package, makes it a capable workhorse. It also offers a comfortable and well-equipped interior, featuring a 14-inch infotainment display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a premium JBL sound system.
