Wagoneer S Limited Debuts with Lower Price

Author: |

Jeep has expanded its all-electric Wagoneer S lineup with the introduction of a new, more accessible entry-level model. Debuting at the Chicago Motor Show, the Wagoneer S Limited trim offers a significant price reduction compared to last year's Launch Edition, making the electric SUV more attainable for a wider range of customers. With a starting MSRP of $66,995 (including the $1,795 destination fee), the Limited undercuts the Launch Edition's $71,995 price tag (including delivery). It's worth noting, however, that the Launch Edition is currently available with a $3,000 discount until March, temporarily narrowing the price gap.

Previously, the Wagoneer S was exclusively offered in the fully loaded Launch Edition, which came equipped with a robust 600-horsepower electric motor, a premium McIntosh 1,200-watt sound system, and a large touchscreen infotainment system. The arrival of the Limited trim signifies a shift towards a more à la carte approach, where fewer features are standard, allowing for a more competitive base price. This strategy allows customers to customize their Wagoneer S experience by selecting the options that best suit their needs and budget.

The most notable difference between the Limited and Launch Edition models lies in the powertrain output. While both trims share the same mechanical hardware, including dual electric motors and four-wheel drive, the Launch Edition's full 600 horsepower is not standard on the Limited. The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S Limited is initially limited to 500 horsepower. However, customers can unlock the full 600 horsepower through an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade called the Propulsion Boost Package, available for an as-yet undisclosed cost. This also affects acceleration; the Launch Edition's 0-96 km/h time of 3.4 seconds will be slightly slower in the Limited, estimated by Jeep to be "under four seconds."

While features like the McIntosh audio system and front passenger screen are relegated to the options list on the Limited, Jeep introduces new aesthetic choices. A new Hydro Blue exterior color and an Arctic Grey interior color are available for the Limited trim. Standard features on the Limited include a dual-pane sunroof, 20-inch alloy wheels, 10-way heated seats, and an extensive suite of over 170 safety features. As expected from a Jeep, the Wagoneer S comes standard with the company's Selec-Terrain 4xe traction management system, offering various driving modes optimized for different terrains and conditions.

Jeep has not released official range figures for the Limited model. However, with the lower standard power output, it is reasonable to assume that the Limited may offer slightly more range than the Launch Edition's 482 km (approximately 300 miles). Charging remains consistent across the lineup; the Wagoneer S can be recharged from 20% to 80% in 23 minutes using a DC fast charger. Jeep will also provide all Wagoneer S buyers with either a 48-volt Level 2 home charger or public charging credits through Stellantis' Free2move ecosystem.

The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S is available for order online and will soon arrive at Jeep dealerships across North America. The starting MSRP is $66,995, including the $1,795 destination charge. Critically, the 2025 Wagoneer S will be eligible for the Inflation Reduction Act lease EV credits, providing a $7,500 incentive for both retail and lease purchases, further enhancing its affordability. This new entry-level Limited trim broadens the appeal of the Wagoneer S, offering a more accessible entry point into the electric SUV market while still retaining the core Jeep attributes of capability and style.
