BMW has confirmed that the 2021 BMW iX3 all-electric SUV will be available in Australia by mid-2021. The BMW iX3 is an all-electric SUV based on the current BMW X3. It benefits BMW’s fifth-generation eDrive system with shared underpinning with iNext SUV and i4 liftback models.
Unlike normal petrol or diesel powered BMW X3, the iX3 is not available with the AWD system. It is a single motor rear-wheel drive SUV. the electric motor can produce 281 hp and 400 nm of torque and it is supplied by a 74kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
With this amount of power, the BMW iX3 can hit 100 kph in 6.8 seconds and can drive up to the range of 460 km with a single charge. Buyers can charge 80 per cent of the battery pack in just 34 minutes by using a 150kW DC charger unit.
While the exterior design looks more normal than other electric cars rather than the aerodynamic wheels and new grille, inside the cabin, the BMW iX3 offers 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch central display with BMW iDrive 7 infotainment system.
