Mercedes accomplished its promise. Just a few days ago, company gave promise to introduce the new C-Class member, and it did. Meet the Mercedes-AMG C-Class C43. A fresh look, with AMG characteristics and also powerful engine.
Mercedes unveiled all we needed to know about new C43. The 2023 C43 has not big changes in compare with the previous versions, but it looks like a perfect AMG car. The grille is redesigned. Also, bumper has changed. No more chrome trim around greenhouse and instead, there is some black lines to make it a fresh look. The exhaust includes four pipes, just sticked to the back bumper. Very nice spoiler on the trunk is the other new face change.
Under the hood, there is a 2-liter turbocharged engine. This four-cylinder engine can make 492 hp of output and also delivers 500 Nm of torque. By boos feature on this car, you can extend the power for more 13 hp. However, this is not the end of story. C43 is a mild-hybrid sedan. That means a 48-volt engine is there to assist ICE. Just keep in mind, the current bigger engine (twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6) makes 385 hp and 520 Nm of torque.
The transmission system is also AMG. The nine-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission is used for the all-wheel-drive system. By the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system the power splits to 31 and 69 percent between front and rear wheels. The drive models are also Race Start for optimal acceleration from a standstill, Sport, Sport +, Comfort, and Individual modes. The damping system and rear-axel steering are the other feature of AMG C43.
Back to the engine specification, this new turbocharger is designed to reduce lag by using technology derived from Formula 1 to integrate a 1.6-inch thin electric motor onto the turbocharger shaft. So, car drives the shaft, accelerating the compressor wheel before exhaust gases take over.
As company claims, the 0-100 km/h is covered in 4.6 seconds and the electric limit on this engine is 50 km/h. by using 19- or 20-inch wheels, the top speed could be increased by 265 km/h. by now a 18-inch wheel is the standard option.
Getting inside the car, you will face a room just like S-Class family. It is totally renewed. Also, the AMG sport seats the flat-bottom AMG steering wheel, AMG sport pedals, and red topstitching are typical. One 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for driver and an 11.9-inch center touchscreen for infotainment system and vehicle controls.
Mercedes hasn’t announced the price tag of this car yet. It may release it later at the sale time. This model of 2023 will be available soon in homeland and U.S.
