The 2024 Suzuki Swift unveiled In Japan, it will be offered in both gasoline and mild hybrid variants. The new Swift has a revamped body, a renovated interior, and updated underpinnings with a newly developed mild-hybrid engine.
The new Swift looks just like the idea. The alloy wheels, exterior and interior detailing, and colors are all carried over from the prototypes shown in Tokyo a few weeks ago.
Aside from the reworked bodywork with boxier LEDs, the fish-like grille, and the strong character line on the profile, the traditional door handles on the rear doors are a significant departure from its predecessor.
The bigger chrome-finished garnish surrounding the honeycomb grille and the hybrid insignia on the front fenders are telltale signs of the electrified models.
Since the 2024 Suzuki Swift's footprint is almost exactly the same as that of the previous generation, it most likely uses an upgraded version of the current Heartect architecture. More precisely, the city automobile has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm and dimensions of 3,860 mm by 1,695 mm by 1,500 mm.
There are nine color choices in the color scheme, and four more bi-tone versions with black pillars and a roof are also available.
The 9-inch infotainment touchscreen display sits in the center of the design, and white textured accents enhance the revamped dashboard. Similar to the previous model, there is a small screen in between the analog dials instead of a digital instrument cluster. The additional USB charging outlets and the updated climate controls are noteworthy features as well. Not to mention, the handbrake has an auto-hold feature and is now electronic.
The Suzuki Safety Support ADAS suite performs better in terms of safety thanks to the new generation's millimeter wave radar, monocular camera, and ultrasonic sensor. The Suzuki Safety Support ADAS suite features the Dual Sensor Brake Support II, which detects vehicles, bikes, motorbikes, and pedestrians more accurately. An omnidirectional monitor camera, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are also included.
The 2017 Swift will be offered in three trim levels, according to a dedicated page on Suzuki's Japanese website: XG, Hybrid MX, and Hybrid MZ. The entry-level model has a non-electrified petrol engine, whilst the mid-range and high-spec models have a mild hybrid arrangement. As with the previous generation, the addition of an ISG electric motor-generator and a separate battery helps minimize fuel usage. Suzuki did not provide us with specifics.
The JDM-spec 2024 Suzuki Swift comes equipped with a new CVT automatic transmission that is supposed to be lighter, quieter, and more efficient than the previous generation. Thanks to the optional full-time 4WD system, power is transmitted to either the front or all four wheels.
The Suzuki Swift 2024 will also be sold to other markets, where alternative powertrain options may be available.
Suzuki retailers in Japan are already taking applications for the new Swift. The model's pricing and complete specifications will be released at a later date.
