Citroen has unveiled its updated Ami model at the Paris Motor Show, featuring a series of styling tweaks and a new electric concept, the Ami Buggy Vision. The production Ami retains its iconic design but receives a subtle facelift with revised front and rear ends, larger lighting units, and beefier bumpers. The new Citroen emblem takes center stage, while the headlights have been given a unique "human" touch with black trim resembling eyelids.

While the overall profile remains familiar, closer inspection reveals subtle details like fake gills on the fenders and a checkerboard pattern on the wheel covers. These elements add a touch of personality to the Ami's already distinctive appearance.

Under the hood, the mechanicals remain unchanged. The Ami continues to be powered by an 8 horsepower electric motor and a 5.5 kWh battery, making it ideal for short city commutes. The updated model is expected to launch in the first half of 2025 with pricing to be announced closer to the release date.

The Ami Buggy Vision concept takes the Ami's quirky design to the next level. By replacing conventional doors with metal tubes, the Buggy Vision embraces an open-air driving experience. The concept features chunky tires, flared fenders, a roof-mounted LED bar, and a playful rear spoiler.

Citroen has also incorporated practical elements into the Buggy Vision, such as special mounts for a kite surfboard on the tube doors and a unique luggage compartment designed to store the kite sail. The interior features new quilted seat cushions and an infrared shade for the upholstery, inspired by the Oli concept.

While Citroen hasn't confirmed production plans for the Ami Buggy Vision, the popularity of its predecessor, the My Ami Buggy, suggests that a toned-down version could be offered for sale. The Ami's success has prompted Citroen to expand its limited production numbers to meet demand.

In addition to the Ami and Ami Buggy Vision, Citroen showcased its "Ami Tower" at the Paris Motor Show, featuring special editions of the Ami including the My Ami for All, My Ami Rose Festival, and My Ami Pep. The Ami's popularity is reflected in the growing number of electric quadricycles available from Stellantis, including the Fiat Topolino and Opel Rocks Electric.
