Nissan has given its mid-size Frontier pickup truck a makeover for the 2025 model year. The update includes a fresh exterior, an upgraded interior, and enhanced capabilities.

The Frontier’s front end has undergone a transformation, with a more squared-off look and a simplified grille. The rear of the truck has also been tweaked, especially for the off-road-oriented PRO-X and PRO-4X models which now boast a bold plastic trim across the tailgate. To add a splash of color, Nissan has introduced a vibrant new exterior paint option called Afterburn Orange.

Inside the cabin, there are several improvements. Higher trim levels now come standard with a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, all Frontier models benefit from a tilt and telescoping steering wheel and a sliding rear window. To enhance comfort, SV trims and above feature a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

Nissan has also expanded the Frontier's offerings by introducing a long-wheelbase option for the Crew Cab body style on PRO-4X and SL trims. This provides additional cargo space for those who need it. Furthermore, the truck’s towing capacity has been increased by 500 pounds across the board, now reaching a maximum of 7,150 pounds depending on the configuration. It's worth noting that while towing capacity has increased, the Frontier's powertrain remains unchanged, consisting of a 3.8-liter V6 engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Nissan claims to have conducted extensive testing to ensure the truck can handle the increased towing load.

Safety has not been overlooked. The 2025 Frontier comes standard with a suite of driver assistance features, including lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring. Additionally, Nissan's Intelligent Around View camera system now operates at speeds up to 12 mph in Off-Road mode, providing enhanced visibility in challenging terrain.

While specific pricing details for the 2025 Frontier are yet to be released, Nissan has indicated a modest price increase compared to the 2024 model, which started at $32,020. The updated pickup is expected to arrive in dealerships later this year. With these enhancements, Nissan aims to strengthen the Frontier's position in the competitive mid-size truck segment.
