Dodge Charger Daytona Gets Extreme Widebody Makeover from Waido Kits

Author: |

Waido Kits has offered a sneak peek at its upcoming widebody conversion kit for the electric Dodge Charger Daytona through a series of digital renderings. Known for its bold designs and previous work on vehicles like the Tesla Cybertruck, Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and previous-generation Dodge Charger and Challenger, Waido Kits is now turning its attention to the electrifying Daytona. Given the company's established pattern, it's reasonable to speculate that a similar conversion kit might be in development for the gas-powered version of the Charger, which is expected to hit the market this summer. However, this particular kit for the electric Daytona is certainly not for the faint of heart or those who prefer understated styling.

The widebody package represents a dramatic transformation of the Charger Daytona's appearance. The modifications begin at the front, where a more pronounced front splitter is added, immediately conveying a more aggressive and ground-hugging stance. The kit also includes a pair of newly designed front quarter panels, further contributing to the car's wider and more muscular look. Waido Kits has also developed new side skirts for the substantial electric vehicle, enhancing its profile and adding to the overall sense of dynamism. Perhaps the most striking additions are the flared rear quarter panels, which significantly broaden the car's rear end. While the precise increase in width compared to a standard Charger Daytona has not been specified, the visual impact of these flared arches is undeniable, creating a considerably more imposing presence on the road.

The modifications are not confined to the sides of the vehicle. The rear of the Charger Daytona also receives a comprehensive makeover, including a new diffuser and a fixed rear wing. These additions not only contribute to the car's aggressive aesthetic but may also offer functional benefits in terms of aerodynamics and downforce. Adding to the visual drama, some of Waido's components, including the diffuser, appear to be constructed from forged carbon fiber, a lightweight and high-tech material that further emphasizes the performance-oriented nature of the kit. The Charger featured in the renderings also showcases a set of custom wheels fitted with forged carbon aero discs, a further testament to the attention to detail and the pursuit of a unique and high-performance look.

The pricing for this comprehensive widebody package remains undisclosed. Waido Kits has been contacted for information on the cost, and an update will be provided as soon as details are available. The company's pricing for previous widebody kits has varied considerably, suggesting that the Daytona kit could fall within a broad price range. For instance, Waido's widebody setup for the previous-generation Charger started at a relatively affordable $1,790, while its kit for the Challenger was priced slightly higher at $2,090. At the higher end of the spectrum, Waido offers a $9,990 upgrade package for the Tesla Cybertruck, demonstrating the company's ability to cater to the premium market. Given this wide range in pricing for previous kits, it remains to be seen where the Daytona kit will be positioned in terms of cost. The use of premium materials like forged carbon fiber and the complexity of the design suggest that it will likely be a more premium offering, but the exact price point will ultimately determine its accessibility to potential customers.
