Fiat has revealed many cars which didn’t be followed with next-coming generations. For example, the Punto was a supermini in Europe years ago without any next-alternatives. And instead of that mini came out a small hatchback in 2017 in south America with the name of Argo. Then we saw Cronos in 2018 as the subcompact sedan and now we are witness of a new born vehicle in Brazil.
This one is known by the Project 363. Yet company hasn’t chosen any names for the SUV, but it’s called SuvFiat. Fiat has asked the lovers to share their ideas on the suv.fiat.com.br. The options to choose for the new vehicle is Tuo, Domo, and Pulse. You don’t have much time to do the vote. Then the name with most votes will be used on the new car, while it goes on sale on September.
Fiat claims this new car is based on a new platform "MLA" instead of using the same “MP1” (which is used for Argo and Cronos). By the company’s claims MLA is designed to bring more performance, robustness, and comfort. Moreover, safety is improved and mechanical components not shared with other existing products.
It is expected, this car be powered by a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine based on the Argo's 1.0 Firefly unit. This little engine can provide 125 hp and 200 Nm of torque which is coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. There would be weaker versions with a naturally aspirated 1.3-liter engine producing 109 hp and 139 Nm of torque which has a CVT-type gearbox.
The main Idea of body design is obviously a Fords style. It has some taste of Argo and Cronos but more likely as a SUV. Just the faux exhaust tips is old school, but the rest deserves a Like! The flagship version of it has a contrasting black roof and two-tone alloy wheels, not to mention full-LED headlights and a chrome bar running across the entire width of the front end.
About inside the car, we can’t say anything as there is no photos of it. But we expect just like the exterior, a suitable interior for SUV. It should be distinguishable with its hatchback and sedan cousins.
In coming month, we receive more official news. Just now go and vote for your name.
