Bentley unveils a steering wheel in conjunction with Fanatec, a world leader in gaming rigs. it's a gamer-purchasable item designed particularly for the Bentley Continental GT3 Pikes Peak competition car.
The Fanatec steering wheel is made of lightweight carbon fiber and magnesium alloy and comes with a slew of driving features. A forged carbon display bezel, two 7-way FunkySwitch directional sticks with encoder capability, a pair of aluminum thumb wheels with optical encoders, and four magnetic paddles round out the features.
The paddles are inspired by the Continental GT road vehicle. At the time of the unveiling, the Continental GT3 Pikes Peak challenger was powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that produced 750 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque, but Bentley stated that it will be much higher for hill climb racing.
The aim is to break the Time Attack 1 class record by completing the course in less than 9 minutes and 36 seconds.
