Auto manufacturers always try to design and build something which is loved by everyone, and by everyone we mean the global market, especially the Chinese customers. So, Ford is no different and will do anything to see its cars success.
Car lovers and customers of the Chinese market have their own special taste when it comes to foreign vehicles. Apparently, they prefer the cars with longer wheelbase.
The Mustang Mach-E, which is one the newest products of Ford and an electrified crossover, is going to China like many other models. Since the customers in China prefer long wheelbase, the new Mustang will be presented in their market with only one face, the GT trim.
According to a source the model offered to Chinese market is different from the ones which get to Europe or the United States. The model presented in the market will be the GT, although it does not have the GT setup. So, that means the Mach-E will look more like the conventional shape of Mustang rather that a super futuristic car. The point of designing Mach-E was to mimic Tesla’s futuristic face. Well, that’s not happening in China!
We should note that the powertrain is the same as the other models offered in the European or North American counterparts. The engine is capable of producing 480 horsepower and 860 Nm of torque. The horsepower is the same as GT, but the torque has increased. The speed reaches 60 miles per hour in only 3.5 seconds which is 0.2 seconds quicker than the traditional GT.
The Mach-E delivery to the market will start at the end of the next summer.
