Hyundai introduced the 2021 model year iX35 for the Chinese market. The Chinese specs Hyundai iX35 is completely different from the one that we see in the global market. The facelifted 2021 Hyundai iX35 is now available in China with a new 1.4-liter turbocharged engine connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This new engine has 140 hp and 242 nm of torque.
Hyundai also offers a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine connected to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The new 1.4-liter turbo engine is the same as the one you see on Hyundai Elantra. While the output is also the same as Elantra but this engine has modified for the iX35 so it has 31 nm more torque. The throttle response is also better than the Elantra so while the iX35 is heavier about 100 kg but it performs better in the acceleration test. It can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 9.13 seconds.
The 2021 Hyundai iX35 with its new engine consume 7.7 l/100 km of petrol which is pretty good for such a vehicle.
