Whose car is better? What brand is most perfect? That’s now a very hard question to answer. It seems that Carwow has faced Germans and Italians on the road. The most recent of their drag race, with representation of Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio from Italian and BMW M4 and Audi RS5 from Germany. As these cars are in the same range of performance, it seems that this match is a very fair one.
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio from Italy with the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6. This cars output is 510-hp (380 kW) and a torque of 600 Nm (443 lbf) is transfer to the wheels. Although it’s the time for digitals, this competitor is member of the old school. (but not that old school). Giulia has a standard eight-speed torque converter gearbox that drives the rear wheels and no launch control was used. This car is the lightest too (it weighs 3,351 Pounds). By the way, it carries the name of Alfa Romeo so no surprise if this car costs £66,000 (about $87,700) which makes it the most expensive car of the party.
The first competitor from Germany is Audi RS5. The capacity of its engine is the same as the Giulia, a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 but with less output power in compare with Giulia. It has 450-horsepower (336 kW) power in the catalog with the torque of 443 pound-feet (600 Nm). Theoretically, it can be a replacement for Alfa Romeo. Although it is a bit heaver (3,747 pounds total weight), but it is equipped with all-wheel-drive and an eight-speed ZF transmission and of course more economic that Giulia (£65,000 or $86,380).
Now take a quick look in to the traditional automaker, BMW M4. The power train of this car has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder. This engine makes 431 horse power (321 kW) and 406 pound-feet (550 Nm) of torque. The torque is transmitted by the six-speed DCT to the wheels. It has also Rear-Wheel drive and a launch control. The cheapest one is this BMW here. It only costs £62,000 (about $82,400) to the shoppers.
Thanks to the Carwow and its Team for a fantastic drag race. The result of this match reveals so many things, for example don’t judge a book by its cover!
