Ineos has revealed a fresh iteration of the Grenadier, tailored for specialized vehicles and LCV conversions. Dubbed the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab, this model builds upon the existing pickup platform, featuring an exposed ladder frame chassis at the rear, providing a versatile "blank canvas" for aftermarket customization.
Sharing the same five-seater double-cab body and ladder frame chassis with the Quartermaster Pickup, the Chassis Cab also maintains an identical wheelbase, which is 305 mm longer than the Station Wagon variant. This chassis configuration streamlines the conversion process for various applications, including flatbed trucks, box vans, emergency service vehicles, or overlanding campers, capitalizing on the Grenadier's robust 3,500 kg towing capacity.
George Ratcliffe, Ineos Automotive's Commercial Director, expressed, "In the first year since the Grenadier launched we have already seen a number of specialist conversions, particularly with emergency services such as fire, police and inshore rescue, so launching the Quartermaster Chassis Cab is a natural step that takes our off-road expertise into many commercial areas that need a class-leading 4X4."
Aligned with the broader Ineos Grenadier lineup, the Chassis Cab is powered by turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline or diesel engines sourced from BMW, exclusively paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, it boasts heavy-duty solid beam axles, a two-speed transfer case, and up to three locking differentials, ensuring unrivaled performance off-road.
Manufacture of the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab will take place at the former-Mercedes factory in Hambach, France, alongside the Quartermaster pickup and Station Wagon models. In the UK market, pricing starts from £53,180 excluding VAT.
This isn't the first Grenadier variant tailored for LCV applications, as Ineos also offers a closed-body Utility Wagon configuration, available in both two-seater and five-seater setups, featuring panels in place of rear windows.
