Lexus has collaborated with the renowned golf brand Malbon to create a limited-edition version of their 2024 GX 550. This unique vehicle, aptly named the Malbon Edition, is set to make its rounds at various golf events throughout the remainder of the year.
The Malbon Edition GX 550 is instantly recognizable due to its distinctive green-themed exterior. A topographic map of a golf course is intricately wrapped around the vehicle, complemented by bespoke Malbon Edition badges. The roof is finished in a contrasting white, while a set of single-dish white wheels completes the look. While personal preferences may vary, the choice of white wheels might not be universally appealing, as some might argue that flashier chrome or gloss black rims would have been more suitable.
The GX 550's off-road capabilities are further enhanced by a roof rack, which supports a pair of large Pelican boxes. These boxes provide ample storage space for golf clubs, including longer woods and drivers, as well as other golf accessories. Additionally, a black Yakima side awning adds to the vehicle's versatility and convenience.
Inside, the Malbon Edition features luxurious captain's chairs in the second row, replacing the standard bench seat. The third row has been removed to accommodate a spacious pull-out storage box, capable of holding up to four golf bags, along with golf balls, tees, shoes, and towels. To further distinguish the special GX 550, Lexus and Malbon have also incorporated unique steel scuff plates.
Throughout the year, the Lexus Malbon Edition will be making appearances at several high-profile golf events and venues, including the Oregon Buckets Club Golf Tournament, Columbia Edgewater, IMSA Petit Le Mans, Road Atlanta, Buckets Club Tournament, The Grand Golf Club, Lexus Maldon Invitational, and Miami Shores Country Club.
