Mercedes-AMG GT R Speedster

Bussink debuted the world's first AMG GT R Speedster, with a one-of-a-kind build and very limited number. Roland A. Bussink, a private collector, designed the impressive two-seater you see in the gallery below.

The Bussink GT R Speedlegend is a pillarless AMG vehicle with a tiny windshield and a huge Formula 1-style Halo safety system extending around its midsection. This is not a visual illustration or a concept exercise. Bussink will create five of these beauties, and if you're lucky, you might see one on the road someday—all five vehicles, of course, have already been spoken for.

The Speed-legend started to take shape after the windows and A-pillars were shortened and the convertible top was stripped from the AMG GT R Roadster donor vehicle, which was inspired by the Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss. As a result, almost 100 kg of weight was saved, as well as a lower center of gravity, which improved handling and stability.

Other modifications include completely redesigned roll-bars and mirrors, pace domes that taper towards the back, louvers, side pipes, and, of course, the clear coat exterior.

Under the hood is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine inherited from the AMG GT R. You may order it in its original form or with 850 horsepower and 1,040 Newton-meters added. The unmodified vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds, and we anticipate that the more powerful variant will be faster by a few tenths of a second.

The run is narrowly limited to just five scenarios. And all five have since sold out.
