Subaru has unveiled a new special edition for its WRX S4 sedan and Levorg wagon models in Japan: the STI Sport R-Black Limited. This limited-edition trim adds a touch of darkness and extra features to these already sporty vehicles.
The exterior of the STI Sport R-Black Limited is distinguished by its blacked-out accents, including the mirror caps, roof antenna, and alloy wheels. The WRX S4 model also retains its signature large rear wing. Customers can choose from eight exterior colors, including the striking new Galaxy Purple Pearl option, previously seen on the US-spec 2025 WRX tS and BRZ Series.
Inside, the cabin of the STI Sport R-Black Limited is a driver's haven. The highlight is the pair of black Recaro sport seats, upholstered in black Ultrasuede with red stitching. The driver's seat offers eight-way power adjustment for optimal comfort. The rest of the interior features a combination of black leather and suede-like inserts, with red contrast stitching adding a sporty touch.
Under the hood, the STI Sport R-Black Limited remains powered by the familiar 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer engine, delivering 271 horsepower and 375 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a CVT gearbox with a virtual eight-speed manual mode.
In addition to the special edition, Subaru has also introduced several upgrades for the 2025 model year WRX S4 and Levorg lineups in Japan, including improvements to the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The STI Sport R-Black Limited is now available for order in Japan, with a starting price of ¥5,302,000 for the WRX S4 and ¥5,368,000 for the Levorg. This represents a premium of ¥275,000 over the standard STI Sport R EX trims.
