Citroen introduces the up to seven-seat C3 Aircross for developing countries. The CMP-based vehicle, which differs from the Citroen C3 Aircross built to EU specifications, was created with the Indian, South East Asian, and South American markets in mind.
The subcompact market is home to the New C3 Aircross. It is 170 mm longer than the previous EU-spec C3 Aircross, measuring 4.32 m in length. Additionally, it is 339 mm longer than the New C3 that is now on the market in South America and India.
The New C3 Aircross resembles the bigger sibling of the New C3. With split headlamps, sculpted fenders, understated plastic cladding, and a two-tone livery, the model takes an SUV appearance.
Inside, the dashboard is based on the New C3, featuring the 10-inch infotainment touchscreen that is available in higher grades and the 7-inch digital instrument cluster.
In addition to the five-seater version, there is a seven-seater vehicle with a 2+3+2 layout. With the third row removed, the cargo room has a capacity of 482 to 511 liters for a five-seater vehicle.
Citroen's comfort-oriented seats, powerful air conditioning, five USB charging points, in-cabin storage, and cup holders that serve as smartphone holders are among the amenities.
The New C3 Aircross will be available with a non-electrified 1.2-liter PureTech turbocharged petrol engine delivering 108 horsepower, with a fully electric powertrain to follow. A six-speed manual transmission sends power to the front wheels.
The Citroen New C3 Aircross will be manufactured in Porto Real, Brazil, and Thiruvallur, India. India and South America are likely to enter the market later in 2023, with Indonesia following in 2024. Europe will receive its own C3 Aircross over the next several months.
