Jeep has unveiled the 2022 Cherokee, which has major revisions, including the reduction of the portfolio to just four model levels.
It brings a little Trailhawk flavor to the lower end of the spectrum with rough style cues with external graphics, a 25 mm suspension elevation, all-terrain tires on black 17-inch rims, and standard-issue 4WD with V6 power.
Cloth and vinyl seats with eight-way power adjustment for the driver are available in the interior. Air conditioning, a heated leather steering wheel, and an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system are among the other highlights. The instrument cluster also has a six-speaker audio system and a 3.5-inch LCD.
The Latitude Lux receives extra basic features, such as dual-zone temperature control and a power liftgate, and serves as the more luxury base variant to the tough X.
The inside is a mix of black fabric and vinyl, and while eight exterior colors are available, the only one that does not need an additional charge is white. Blind-Spot Monitoring, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, and Rear Cross Path Detection are among the safety features. A rearview camera, park assist, and LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist are also included. Except for the Latitude Lux, which can only turn the front wheels, all Cherokee models now come standard with four-wheel drive.
A 3.2-liter V6 engine with 271 horsepower and 324 Nm of torque provides the power. It comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive as standard. Shifting is handled by a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
Customers who want something a little less radical may go for the Cherokee Latitude Lux, which starts at $33,995. This is a $2,185 increase, but the model now has features like a power liftgate, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and a 7-inch instrument cluster display.
According to Jeep, the Cherokee X will be ready in late 2022. However, the price for all four 2022 Cherokee models is available on Jeep's website. The basic price of the vehicle has also increased from $28,135 to $33,995.
The Cherokee Trailhawk 2022 starts at $37,045 and the Cherokee Limited at $38,745. The prices do not include the $1,595 destination fee.
