Recently Kia has revealed its new aspect of view on designing a vehicle. This new design said goodbye to the muscular front grills and paid more attention to aerodynamics. Now Kia has introduced its EV6, which is some how Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 sister. The EV6 has not just a whole new design but also a good range of drive.
This is actually a crossover SUV with Kia’s new signature and design. This EV6 is provided with different codes. The 2WD, AWD and now also the “multiple zero-emissions powertrain configurations”. This new type of EV6 can be with standard- or long-range battery packs (58 and 77.4 kWh), as well as GT-Line and GT models.
The 2WD with the 77.4 kWh battery pack offers the longest range of drive. With a full charge you can experience a 510 km of drive. This version of EV6 has electric motor linked to the rear axle with 226 hp output. Meanwhile, the AWD has a perfect acceleration. It can reach to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, as this one has a motor with 321 horse power output.
Also, the other option is the GT suffix. EV6 GT is available with just long-range pack. This one is really a GT. Its powertrain provides 577 hp output and also accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The top seep of EV6 GT is 260 km/h. on other hand, the base EV6 with a 58 kWh battery, needs 6.2 seconds and it has a weaker motor in 2WD guise (less than 168 hp or 232 hp) with all-wheel drive.
More importantly, with the very quick charging on board—both 400V and 800V stations, this electric car can be charged very quickly. Just in 18 minutes it can reach to 80% . also, a neat V2L (vehicle-to-load) function that morphs the EV6 into a 3.6 kW mobile power generator.
