2024 Ram 1500 REV Electric Truck Debuts

Ram Trucks has officially presented the production version of the 2024 1500 REV, following the global launch of the 1500 Revolution BEV Concept at CES 2023 last month. In a Super Bowl commercial, Stellantis also disclosed that it would begin taking bookings for the 1500 REV truck.

The Ram 1500 REV appears as the star of the brand's 60-second television Big Game commercial, which is ironically titled "Premature Electrification." It resembles an electrified version of Ram's current 1500 pickup truck.

The redesigned front and back ends that mimic the concept's contemporary look is the key deviations from the basic truck shape. Some of the side body panels appear to be shared with the ICE-powered truck, but the front and rear ends have unique elements. This comprises custom wheels, a grille, and lights with a futuristic appearance.

The inside, more notably the dashboard, is also shown in the advertisement. There was very little information provided about the actual truck, but from the images, it appears to have a crew cab body and a short bed, neither of which are large enough to support the concept model's third row with jump seats, though Ram may eventually offer several configurations.

The pickup will be constructed on the brand-new STLA Frame platform for trucks, which is designed especially for body-on-frame EVs. If genuine, it would outperform most of its rivals with an all-electric range of more than 800 miles.

Ram claims that with 800-volt DC rapid charging at up to 350 kW, it will be able to increase the range by up to 160 km in 10 minutes.

Ram has said that it will be able to pull more than the 10,000 lbs that the Chevrolet Silverado EV and Ford F-150 Lightning are able to haul.

The manufacturer did confirm that the electric pickup will begin manufacturing in 2024 and hit showrooms by the end of the following year. This most likely indicates that it will make its debut in 2025.
