Today at the Guangzhou Auto Show, BYD unveiled its newest all-electric coupe-SUV. Sea Lion 07 has CTB battery integration technology and is built on the e-platform 3.0 platform. After the Dolphin hatchback, Seal sedan, and Seagull entry-level hatchback, BYD's Ocean series now includes the Sea Lion 07 BEV.
The 07 is the first electric vehicle (EV) in BYD's new Sea Lion lineup, which will be marketed under the Ocean series. It has the recognizable Ocean aesthetic composition of BYD, which was inspired by the Ocean-X concept car. The team behind the 07 is led by Wolfgang Egger, a former Audi employee who has been head of design at BYD since 2016.
A BYD concept called CTB integrates a battery into a car, much like CTC (Cell to Chassis), which does away with the need for separate battery packs by embedding the battery into the car's floor and body. According to BYD, the CTB configuration increases volume utilization by 66% and vertical space by 10mm because the battery top cover is integrated into the vehicle's floor.
The wheelbase of the BYD Sea Lion 07 is 2930 mm, and its dimensions are 4830/1925/1620 mm. Disus-C, an intelligent body control system specifically designed for BEVs, will be included. The range of the price is $27,600 to $35,900.
