For the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, Ford has closed the reservation lines. Ford has announced on the all-electric truck's customer-facing homepage that reservations have ended and the ordering process has begun. The prior reservation link for the all-new model has also vanished.
Ford has not said when the ordering books would be available but has stated that the client order bank will be available by January 2022.
According to the F150Gen14 Forum document, the production of the 2022 F-150 Lightning will begin in the spring of 2022. If the dealer bulletin is to be believed, there is some disappointing news for Lightning fans. "Not all reservation holders will receive an invitation to make an order for MY22," according to the post.
The Lightning has garnered over 200,000 bookings, according to Ford. Although not all of these reservations will turn into orders, we can confidently state that there is a lot of enthusiasm for the all-electric truck.
70% of Lightning clients are totally new to the company and the vehicle industry.
The dual-motor arrangement on the F-150 Lightning produces a combined output of 563 horsepower and 1050 pound-feet of torque. Models with the standard range battery will have a combined 426 HP and the same 1050 nm of torque as the other models, thanks to a dual-motor arrangement.
The payload capacity is up to 2,000 pounds, and the towing capacity is up to 10,000 pounds.
The electric F-150 will have a separate onboard AC charger depending on whatever battery pack you choose. Trucks with the standard range battery will have an 11.3 kW single charger, while those with the extended range battery will get a twin charger with up to 19.2 kW, both designed to provide the fastest possible charging speeds up to the SAE charging standards' restrictions.
