Land Rover is commemorating the 35th anniversary of the iconic Discovery with a limited-edition model set to arrive in Australian showrooms in December 2024. This special edition pays homage to the original Discovery, which debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1989.
The 2025 Discovery 35th Anniversary Edition will be available in three exclusive colors: Varesine Blue, Fuji White, and Charente Grey. It boasts a distinctive appearance, featuring unique "XXXV" badging, gloss black 21-inch alloy wheels, a black roof, darkened taillights, black roof rails, privacy glass, and a standard tow bar with Advanced Tow-Assist technology.
Inside, the cabin is adorned with Ebony grained leather upholstery, 18-way heated electric front seats with "Captain's" armrests, heated electrically folding second-row seats, an electrically adjustable steering column, four-zone climate control, a cooler compartment, a head-up display, and wireless smartphone connectivity. Optional extras include the Advanced Off-Road Pack, which adds a twin-speed transfer box, All Terrain Progress Control, Terrain Response 2, Configurable Terrain Response, and an Active Locking Differential.
Powering the 35th Anniversary Edition is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo diesel six-cylinder engine paired with mild-hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) technology. This combination delivers 257kW of power and 700Nm of torque, resulting in a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6.3 seconds. While the MHEV system improves performance, it slightly increases fuel consumption to 7.8L/100km.
Priced from $133,176 before on-road costs, the Discovery 35th Anniversary Edition is positioned as the flagship model in the Discovery range, offering a blend of luxury, capability, and historical significance.
