Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Vision AMG concept, which provides us a glimpse into the future of a high-performance electric car. The research is based on Mercedes' specialized AMG. The EA architecture is being developed for all-electric AMG cars, with the first production car expected to hit the market in 2025. The Vision AMG could be both a wild performance and a practical daily driver. According to Autocar, AMG plans to build the car with four pillarless doors and a hatchback-style door in the back to make it a genuine grand tourer.
The idea is 147mm longer than a Porsche Taycan and slightly longer than a Mercedes-AMG GT 4Matic 4-Door at 5,100mm.
It was inspired by Mercedes' Formula 1 cars and finished in Alubeam silver with drifting three-point stars. Meanwhile, the 22-inch wheels with aero wrapping are similar to those found on the Project ONE. The Vision AMG's low ride height also provides some aerodynamic benefits.
The Vision AMG's ranges and power statistics have yet to be revealed, and it's difficult to make any educated assumptions given the company claims to be building the drivetrain from the ground up.
After the Vision AMG, Mercedes-Benz says it will produce more AMG EA automobiles.
