The new EC7 and the redesigned ES8 have been unveiled by Nio, one of China's more intriguing automakers. A "mid-large flagship coupe SUV," the EC7 is advertised as having a drag coefficient as low as 0.23. According to the manufacturer, this gives the model the world's lowest drag coefficient of any crossover. An active rear wing aids in achieving this high rating.
Starting with the appearance, you can probably guess that the car has the same EL7 front-end design as well as a sloped roofline and a longer rear overhang. The EC7 has dimensions of 4,968 mm in length, 1,974 mm in width, 1,714 mm in height, and a 2,960 mm wheelbase.
The entry-level model has a nice 12.8-inch infotainment system and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster inside the cabin. Front seats with perforations and functions for heating, ventilation, and massage join them.
Other notable features include a 23-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos technology, a tri-zone climate control system, and a smart fragrance system. The 6.6-inch display and heated, power-reclining seats in the back seats show that the passengers in the back seats haven't gone unnoticed.
A dual-motor electric drive system provides power and has an instant torque of 850 Nm and a peak output of 644 horsepower. With this configuration, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.8 seconds. According to China's CLTC cycle, the EV SUV's range between two charges ranges from 490 km to 940 km, and it is available with 75, 100, or 150 kWh battery packs.
Nio is already taking orders for the EC7, with deliveries set to begin in May of next year. The cheapest EC7 costs around $70,100. The model with a 100 kWh battery pack costs $78,447.
