The 2024 Hyundai Sonata N Heading to Australia

The facelifted 2024 Hyundai Sonata has finally made its way to Australia, where it will only be available for purchase in N Line trim, just a few months after its US premiere.

The refined Sonata N Line has undergone major modifications. It will be available in six colors: Serenity White, Biophilic Ink, Abyss Black, Nocturne Grey, Ultimate Red, and Aero Silver Matte. It also features strong new LED taillights and new 19-inch alloy wheels.

A 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 286 horsepower and 422 Nm of torque continues to power the Sonata N Line. This engine is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that drives the front wheels, but there is no limited-slip differential. This means that, like the pre-facelift car, the new model will most likely perform single-wheel burnouts on hard launches.

There have also been external design changes, none more so than the front end where the DRLs and asymmetrical headlights have been swapped out for a straightforward LED light bar and separate headlamps that are integrated into the air intakes.

The installation of a single curved panoramic display inside that houses the 12.3-inch infotainment panel and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is the biggest interior improvement. There is a redesigned steering wheel and the shifter has been moved to the steering column.

Hyundai has also updated the ambient lighting system and will only provide Nappa leather seats with red contrast stitching on the N Line model.

The 2024 Sonata will include over-the-air software updates from Hyundai, and Hyundai BlueLink connected car services will be standard on all Australian-delivered cars.

The only options offered are AU$1,000 for Matte premium paint or AU$595 for Metallic / Mica premium paint. Local pricing start at AU$55,500.
