Since its removal from all other markets in 2007, the FJ Cruiser has been offered exclusively in the Middle East.
According to Toyota, the Middle East market for the FJ Cruiser is about to come to an end. Its discontinuation in December 2022 has been confirmed by the Japanese carmaker. However, Toyota will first release a limited-edition Final Edition.
All Final Editions, according to Toyota, will have the identical beige paint job and have a blacked-out grille, bumpers, outside wing mirrors, door handles, and spare tire cover. Side steps and 17-inch aluminum wheels are also supplied. Additionally, a Final Edition badge will be sent with each example.
The 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine that powers the 2023 Toyota FJ Cruiser Final Edition will remain the same, producing 270 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.
“The FJ Cruiser rides into the sunset leaving lasting memories of one of the most iconic SUVs in Toyota’s rich history, The vehicle’s winning combination of off-road capabilities, style, and performance make it equally at home during desert adventures or everyday activities and provides a comfortable and dependable experience for drivers and passengers, wherever their journeys may lead.” said Kei Fujita, chief representative of Toyota’s Middle East and Central Asia Representative Office.
There will only be 1,000 Final Edition models made, and each one will differ from the others in a variety of subtle ways. The model will begin to arrive in customers' hands in the fourth quarter of 2022, however pricing information hasn't been disclosed.
