Tesla is gearing up for the imminent launch of its flagship Model 3 Performance, and fresh details regarding this high-powered electric vehicle (EV) have recently emerged online.
A thorough examination of the source code on Tesla UK’s website has unveiled intriguing information about the upcoming model, anticipated to retain the Model 3 Performance moniker. According to the findings, the new EV will boast two "all-new high-performance drive units," jointly delivering a combined output exceeding 500 horsepower. Previous leaks suggest that the front motor could yield 201 horsepower, while the rear motor may contribute 406 horsepower. However, the total combined output will likely be lower due to the motors reaching peak performance at varying speeds.
Prospective buyers eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Model 3 Performance will be delighted to learn about enhancements to its suspension system. The source code, dissected by InsideEVs, suggests that the vehicle will feature "all-new adaptive damping powered by in-house software," promising improved body control without compromising daily usability or comfort. While it remains unclear whether drivers will have the ability to manually adjust the damping settings or if it will be automated through the vehicle's sophisticated onboard computers, Tesla indicates the presence of a new driving mode integrating adaptive suspension controls, hinting at possible customization options.
Tesla has also developed a novel Track Mode software, referred to as V3, specifically tailored for the Model 3 Performance. This mode will recalibrate the powertrain and adaptive suspension to provide drivers with enhanced authority behind the wheel. Furthermore, drivers will have the opportunity to fine-tune handling balance, stability controls, and the regenerative braking system to their preferences.
In addition to performance enhancements, the new Model 3 Performance is reported to feature an "enhanced pedal feel" and improved heat management, likely due to an upgraded brake system.
Externally, the Model 3 Performance is expected to sport model-specific front and rear fascias, complemented by a sizable rear diffuser and a carbon fiber spoiler. It will also be equipped with a fresh set of lightweight, staggered wheels. Interior updates are anticipated to be more subtle, incorporating carbon fiber accents and redesigned seats with bolstering to ensure optimal driver and front passenger support while experiencing the thrill of 500 electric horsepower on the road.
