The all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire has finally been unveiled and is scheduled to go on sale on November 11th. This fourth-generation model comes with a new engine, an upgraded design, and more advanced technology, making it a big step up from its previous version.
The Dzire’s exterior design has been thoroughly revamped to give it a sleek and modern look. The front of the car now features a flatter hood with gentle creases, creating a clean and dynamic appearance. Its headlamps, which Maruti calls “crystal vision,” have a stylish, multi-layered crystal-like look, and they’re set within blacked-out surrounds for an upscale touch. A larger hexagonal grille sits at the front, with six horizontal slats and a prominent Suzuki logo at the center, giving the car a bold presence. On higher-end models, the fog lamps come with LED lighting and are positioned neatly at each corner next to the grille. The side profile is smooth and flows nicely from the roofline to the trunk, giving it a more seamless silhouette than before. The doors have more pronounced curves, and the shoulder line rises subtly, adding to the car's refined look. For added flair, higher trims offer diamond-cut alloy wheels, while mid-range models feature a simpler, but still elegant, wheel design. At the back, the Dzire’s squarish tail lamps have been updated with 3D LED elements, giving the car a stylish touch.
Inside, the Dzire’s cabin layout closely resembles that of the Swift, though it has unique elements and features to set it apart. The interior has a beige theme, enhanced by dark brown accents and faux wood trim that give it a classy and inviting feel. Unlike the Swift’s black-and-silver color scheme, the Dzire’s interior has a warmer, four-shade palette. The 9-inch Smartplay Pro Plus infotainment system is another high-tech addition, which offers wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This system is widely used across other Maruti models, and it includes connected car features as well. A significant highlight in this generation is the inclusion of a factory-fitted sunroof—a first for any compact sedan under four meters in India. Other premium features available on the higher trims include cruise control, rear AC vents for passenger comfort, a rear center armrest, and a 360-degree camera for better visibility and safety.
In terms of safety, the Dzire is equipped with an impressive set of features. It comes with six airbags, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist for easier handling on slopes, and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). It also includes Brake Assist, three-point seat belts for all seats, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats, emphasizing Maruti's commitment to passenger safety.
The Dzire is powered by the new Z12E three-cylinder, 1.2-liter petrol engine, which is the same engine found in the latest Swift. This engine generates 82 horsepower and 111.7 Nm of torque and can be paired with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT automatic transmission. Although this engine is slightly less powerful than the previous four-cylinder model, it compensates with improved fuel efficiency. According to ARAI ratings, the manual version of the Dzire achieves 24.79 km/l, while the AMT version delivers 25.71 km/l. This efficient performance makes the Dzire an economical choice for city and highway driving.
With its refreshed design, new features, enhanced safety, and fuel-efficient engine, the new Dzire presents itself as a well-rounded and appealing choice in the compact sedan segment.
