At the prestigious International Concours of Elegance St. Moritz, Maserati unveiled a dual expansion of its GranCabrio lineup, introducing both a more accessible entry-level model and an exclusive, bespoke creation derived from the high-performance GranCabrio Trofeo. This custom vehicle, christened the ICE, is a product of Maserati's Fuoriserie personalization initiative, showcasing the brand's dedication to tailored luxury.
The newly introduced entry-level GranCabrio aims to broaden the model's appeal by offering a more approachable point of entry into the open-top Maserati experience. Under the hood, this variant houses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 engine, delivering a potent 483 horsepower and 600 Newton-meters of torque. This power is channeled through an all-wheel-drive system, coupled with what is believed to be an eight-speed automatic transmission, enabling the GranCabrio to achieve a 0-100 km/h sprint in a mere 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 302 km/h.
While Maserati chose to maintain a degree of discretion regarding specific technical details, the entry-level model is equipped with a suite of premium features. These include advanced LED headlights, an adaptive air suspension system, and staggered 20- and 21-inch wheels, contributing to both its aesthetic appeal and dynamic performance. The four-seat interior is meticulously crafted, featuring perforated leather seats, a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and an 8.8-inch comfort display, ensuring a sophisticated and technologically advanced cabin environment.
Pricing and equipment specifications will vary depending on the market, but in Italy, the entry-level GranCabrio starts at €169,600, offering a comprehensive array of optional enhancements. Among these options are a high-fidelity Sonus premium audio system, a head-up display for enhanced driver information, and a Comfort Pack that adds features such as ventilated front seats, HomeLink integration, and a wind deflector for enhanced open-top comfort.
The one-off GranCabrio Trofeo, the ICE, is a unique creation that celebrates "winter charm," featuring a bespoke Liquid tri-coat exterior finish that evokes the serene beauty of a frozen lake. This distinctive visual effect is further enhanced by Gloss White accents, forged wheels, and gloss blue brake calipers, creating a captivating and cohesive design. Completing the exterior aesthetic is a Blue Marine soft top, while the interior features an ice-colored theme with contrasting black accents, complemented by carbon fiber trim.
As a derivative of the GranCabrio Trofeo, the ICE model benefits from an upgraded Nettuno V6 engine, producing 542 horsepower and 650 Newton-meters of torque. This enhanced powertrain enables the ICE to achieve a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 316 km/h, showcasing its exceptional performance capabilities.
In addition to the unveiling of these two new models, Maserati announced refinements to its existing grand tourer lineup.
The GranCabrio's color palette has been expanded and refreshed, providing customers with a wider range of customization options. Furthermore, the Trofeo coupe and convertible models will be available with a new sports exhaust system starting in March, promising an enhanced auditory experience characterized by "purer and more adrenaline-fuelled sounds." These updates reflect Maserati's ongoing efforts to refine its offerings and provide customers with an unparalleled level of luxury and performance.
